Frozen Flowers Sensory Tub

 

Goal

Description

When you are out on a walk or playing in the yard, you and your child can pick flowers or pretty leaves. Freeze them in a flexible plastic container, like a plastic cup. When it is frozen, unmold it into a tub or large bowl and let your child play with it as it melts.

Materials

Flowers or leaves, flexible plastic container for freezing, tub or bowl for melting.

Tips

Add food coloring or glitter to the water before freezing for added visual stimulation, Add uncooked rice or uncooked beans for additional tactile stimulation. Monitor your child carefully if you add any material that could be a choking hazard.
