Is it Magnetic?
Give your tot the opportunity to explore magnetic properties at their own pace.
- A Tray
- A magnet
- Various magnetic and non-magnetic objectives
- A small basket
- Prepare the shelf work by placing the various objects in the basket and placing them to the right of the magnet on the tray.
- Model the process of checking the various objects with the magnet to see if they have magnetic properties.
- Return the tray to the shelf.
Some examples of magnetic objects are paper clips, hair clips, nuts and bolts.
Some examples of non-magnetic objects are sticks, sponges, pinecones, rocks and coins.
To continue the exploration, invite your tot to explore your house for different things that are magnetic. (just keep them away from the tv or any monitors 🙂 )
