Rescheduling Cultural Fest…again…

Dear Athena Families,

We’d like to express our gratitude for the parent feedback that was shared with our admin team regarding the challenges of the new Cultural Fest date and time. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and frustration these scheduling changes may have brought up. We were so disappointed that it rained the week of our originally scheduled date for our fall festival, and now we feel that we didn’t properly think through the decision to reschedule it for next Friday afternoon. We have come to understand that trying to gather families on a Friday afternoon is not the best opportunity for us to achieve our goal of building community through a large turnout and enjoying a cultural event together. We hear your feedback that it would be challenging, especially for families whose work responsibilities will be escalated on a Friday before a holiday week, as well as the added responsibility for some families of already having to prepare a dish for pot lucks for classroom parties that same day.

Our After School Program WILL BE OPEN next Friday, November 16, regular hours.

Our goal with our family festivals is to build community, and to enjoy each other and learn about each other in a casual setting. We will do our best to find a Saturday in the spring when the weather will be nice where we can reschedule Cultural Fest.

We do appreciate your feedback and want your participation in celebrating our special community!

Warmly,

Lisl
