Uplifting Spirits, One Card at a Time – Packet #2 Primary
Title: Uplifting Spirits, One Card at a Time
Description: A valuable part of Montessori life is being of service to others. We have recognized a special place in Austin where we feel we can help. It’s called Marbridge. Marbridge is a residential campus for 265 adults with intellectual disabilities.
During this time, these friends are not able to have visitors and may feel lonely. We can take some time and make some special cards to help brighten their days and uplift their spirits.
You can learn more about this beautiful campus and the remarkable services they provide here:https://www.marbridge.org/
Goal: To experience the joy of being of service to others and being a Peacemaker.
- A tray (cookie sheet or box)
- Card Stock or Construction Paper
- Glue Sticks
- Colored Pencils
- Magazines (for collages and/or cutting out words)
- any art supplies that seem fun!
Steps: Let your imagination have fun using any of the art materials you have to make these cards bright and cheerful. An easy way is to start by folding a piece of cardstock in half, then decorating the front. Think rainbows, flowers, animals, or have fun with an abstract. Pictures can be cut from magazines to create a collage.
Comments: When writing on the inside of the card, please make your message positive. On the examples in the photo, are posible messages for the inside. Please DO NOT write ‘Get Well Soon’ or refer to their current condition – We want to help take their minds off their situation, even if only for a moment.
Tips: Cards can be mailed to: Marbridge
