THANK YOU TO OUR 2024 CASINO NIGHT SUPPORTERS!
Dear Athena Community and Athena Supporters,

Our annual Casino Night was a success! It was so fun to dance on the dance floor to the fantastic tunes of Superfonicos, try our luck at the casino tables, and enjoy delicious food from Masa y Mas! I hope that those of you who were able to attend had a good time and maybe even made new friends.

THANK YOU to all of our generous donors; to those of you who donated or secured items for our fabulous silent auction; to the members of our community who secured donations in-kind for the event; to those of you who bought tickets to the event for yourselves or our teachers; and to the volunteers who helped setup, break down, and run the ticket tables at the event. We would not have been able to have such a successful event without each and every one of you. Please take a moment to see our list of generous supporters below. Please let us know if you are interested in helping with next year’s event and/or if you have any questions, feedback, or suggestions for us. We value your input.

So far, we have raised $16,274.20 for our cause! This year’s proceeds will help us pay for our two-year training commitment with Embracing Equity that includes both individual and group audits, education, coaching, support, and guidance, in our commitment to antiracist, anti bias education for all members of our community. Our contract with them also includes a Community Workshop for Athena families! It is central to our mission to be as accessible, equitable, affirming, and inclusive for all of our students, staff, and families.

Be sure to reach out to Jessica to collect your auction winnings, and mark your calendars for our final event of the year, Owl Fest! Bring your picnic baskets, blankets, and camping chairs, lawn games, and your family to our end-of-year celebration on the Athena lawn on the morning of Saturday, May 4.

Thank you for choosing to be a part of our community of educators who are committed to making the world a better place through the education of the young child through a lens of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.

In gratitude,
Lisl

“I couldn’t have asked for a better start to my son’s education. The loving guides at Athena taught him so much more than reading and writing– he’s learned how to take care of himself and those around him while navigating the social community of his classroom. I feel these life skills will serve him well as he graduates and enters first grade in the fall!”
- Rebecca O’Hara (Child now attending Eanes Elementary)
